Principal

Over 30 years of experience spanning railroads, mining and reclamation, airport development, and land development. Extensive expertise in airport improvements and well known in the aviation community.

Project Engineer / Founder

Founder of Tartaglia Engineering with over 50 years of industry experience. Early experience includes private sector and Caltrans. Continues to contribute to design, specifications, and contract administration.

Senior Engineer

Background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Business. Areas of expertise include pavement design and evaluation for private sector, municipalities, and airports.

Licensed Professional Engineer with experience spanning design, coordination, and field work. With TE since 2018, Cal Poly SLO graduate. Bridges the gap between plans and construction.

Meet GEORGE

Ground-based Engineered Observation Robot for Ground-level Evaluation. An in-house innovation from Tartaglia Engineering designed to improve safety and efficiency on active airfield pavement.

What is GEORGE?

GEORGE is an autonomous ground-roving robot compatible with a multitude of surveying equipment attachments including glass prisms, GNSS receivers, and other precision instruments. The robot was initially developed with airports in mind, and is best equipped to survey pavement surfaces.

Exercising ever-adapting modern technologies, Tartaglia Engineering developed GEORGE as a viable and novel approach to airfield surveys. The system integrates and adapts existing conventional survey methods for data collection to create an automated operation — increasing safety while maintaining the accuracy of topographic point data.

GEORGE was developed by the Tartaglia Engineering team to reduce the exposure time survey crews spend on active and potentially dangerous pieces of pavement, including operational runways and taxiways.
